The Sole Obsession event over the last weekend was a tremendous success. This exhibition showcased some of the most rare sneakers like the never seen before Puma Clyde "The Ruler", Nike London Dunk SB, Nike x Dave White Neon Pack, New Balance "Hungry Dragon" and the list goes on and on. Big thank to the team of Sole Obsession, New Balance Singapore, Leftfoot, WhiteRoom and all other sponsors for putting up such a good exhibition for the local scene.

In conjunction with MY.OZ, the Australian High Commission’s year-long
cultural program to celebrate the 50th anniversary of relations between
Australia and Malaysia, Valentine Willie Fine Art and the Australian
High Commission will hold an exhibition of video works entitled Street
Works – Inside Outside Yokohama at Valentine Willie Fine Art from 25
April – 12 May 2007.
Street Works features the work of two of Australia’s most popular
artists, Craig Walsh and Shaun Gladwell. Although on many levels, their
practices might have little in common, both these artists utilise the
streets or generic urban space as the milieu in which much of their
work is generated.
This exhibition which was commissioned for the Yokohama 2005
International Triennale of Contemporary Art presents videoworks of
urban street culture – skateboarding, hip hop, BMX bike riding,
graffiti to render barren pockets of urban landscapes into dramatic
filmic sequences.
The tour of Street Works is supported by the Asialink Centre of the
University of Melbourne, the Australia Council for the Arts, the
Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australia and Canberra
Contemporary Art Space.
