Streething Exclusive Interview with...

As you have seen some Streething exclusive pictures of Modified, the latest Futura shop in Bangkok and this time streething contributor Natural Worm hooked up with the co-owner NAT (pronounced Nut) and spoke about Mr Futura and his latest clothing line called FUTURA-portable picnic players and Modified's future plans.

NW : When was the shop opened?
NAT: The shop has just opened for 2 weeks. Our actual opening date is 15/6/05.

NW: Why did you name it Modified?
NAT: I suggested it to FUTURA and he said simply said "Yes, just give it a try!"

NW : How did you come up with the idea to open this shop?
NAT: It started when FUTURA came to participate in an exhibition in 2004. My friend and I were helping him during the exhibition. The exhibition turned out to be fascinating; many people who are graphic designers, skaters, music artists and graffiti artists turned up. FUTURA came up with the idea himself from seeing and feeling what was happening in Bangkok.
He asked me to be involved and I was very happy to join in!

NW: What is the concept of this shop?
NAT: This shop is going to sell any stuff related to FUTURA, we are the only one who carries his 1st and latest clothing line, it's called
FUTURA-portable picnic players. Futura plans to open such a store as modified, dotted around the world and each shop will have a different name and different interiors.
'modified' is the first of such stores.

NW: Is Futura well known in Bangkok?
NAT: Not really, but because of street culture, many people have started to learn about what he has done in the past and now.

NW: Can you briefly introduce yourself and what you do?
NAT: I have my own local brand and I also run a shop called 'kinky'. I like to skate and I am crazy about sneakers (yes, he showed me his supreme collection!). I used to travel a lot to certain places like NY,HK,SG to get sneakers, but now, I have been concentrating on modified.

NW: Besides FUTURA, will you consider bringing in other brands?
NAT: nope, only FUTURA-portable picnic players!

NW: Last question, where can i get the big Nosferatu?
NAT: haha...it's my idea and it's done by figure company in bkk.
