Nickels and Dimes was created as a reaction to celebrity culture and the current state of high street brands. The signature tongue-in-cheek graphics of the label, voice out commentaries and ideas with a bold and humorous approach.

The label was established in 2007 and is based in Brooklyn, New York.

The brand is widely influenced by music, tv, film, fashion and sports, and carries references to multiple subcultures that Nichols Von Dime was exposed to, while growing up in different countries.

"KUALA LUMPUR: Just as the crowd of 6,000 hip-hop fans were getting restless after waiting an hour and a half for their star to appear, energetic rapper Kanye West burst onto stage and went straight into the hit song Diamonds from Sierra Leone.

The six-time Grammy-award-winning rapper and record producer then kept the crowd at Stadium Negara pumping all the way, not skipping a beat as he performed hits like Gold Digger and Touch the Sky.

Opening local acts Two Phat and the Kartel Gang warmed the audience up for the first half hour, before West, 29, took over for the next hour and 15 minutes, performing hits from his albums The College Dropout and Late Registration.

Fans sang along to Through the Wire, Jesus Walks and Heard 'em Say, the artiste's all-time favourite song."

The first of the Air Force 1 City Pack to be released this April is the Baltimore Series.

"The buzz for the Air Force 1 centered in Baltimore, far from the major fashion centers and the only place where the model was sold for a time after it was discontinued. By 1983, Nike was ready to discontinue the model for newer styles. But three Baltimore retailers-- Cinderella Shoes, Charlie Rudo Sports (own by Charlie Rudo aka Mr. Shoe), and Downtown Locker Room-- banded together to implore Nike executives to reconsider."

BALTIMORE SERIES

In Baltimore the love for the Air Force 1 took the form of a groundswell of support that emerged in the early 80s and eventually spread its affection all over the world. The powerful presence of the shoe on all sides of town turned the AF1 into Baltimore’s shoe of choice, a revolutionary footwear product that spoke volumes about the city’s love for basketball and made Baltimore a key player in the subsequent resurrection of the Air Force 1 and the flourish of basketball culture. The playgrounds of Baltimore became the stage that Force gave its debut performance.
